Wonderful page on farms, Torsten! My sixth great grandfather was Kjell Ivarson Honsi, who owned Hinsi farm #1. Beautiful photos. I must visit.

Greetings to "Family" and new Friends,
The barn on the homestead of Anfinn and Malina Aase has been remodeled into the BarnAgain Lodge that accommodates 15 guests. Anfinn and Maline sailed from Aase and Otterskreda(Arnafjord) in 1870 on the Gazelle with daughters, Synneva and Sitona and son, Johan. Synneva or Susan was almost ten at the time and her family encouraged her to write about the trip. You may have heard of it. It is called "Grandma's Story" and after my aunt translated it from Norwegian to English, it was retranslated back into Norwegian.
I am writing a story about this family for a television program called Restoration Wild which will be on Animal Planet in late 2016. They are remodeling the basement of the barn and the silo to add more room for guests. Since my immediate family now lives in four different states, we have had wonderful times gathering there especially at Christmastime.
We visited Norway in 2008 and were able to find the farms that the Aase's immigrated from. Torsten, you sounded like you might be interested in this history. I would love to hear from you.
