Snow depth in the Vikjafjellet mountains

"Maybe the most important feature of the Internet" - teacher Asbjørn Brekke, 2002

Maximum this season: 242 cm (February 17, 2020)

The average (the grey curve) applies to the winters 2000-2019. The measurements are done on a small plain close to Ygnesdal, 920 m a.s.l. (plot on map). At first I measured by hand, but since 2017 the measurements were done automatically with a solar powered sensor that sends the results over GSM. It is hard to say whether the measurements represent an average snow depth in the area, but any way they are interesting for comparing month by month and year by year.
